The 2018 Toyota RAV4 is a bit ahead of
the curve. Toyota Safety Sense comes to all new Toyota models this year, but it
came to the groundbreaking Toyota crossover last year, slightly ahead of
schedule. It offers a hybrid version, oodles of interior space, and legendary
reliability. We expect it to have a great year at Bell Road Toyota.
New for 2018
Most of the changes
for this year are minor: a heated steering wheel, a new exterior color, and
power-operated heated seats available on lower-trim models. However, one change
got our attention. That’s the special edition Toyota RAV4 Adventure. It has a
slightly higher ground clearance, added lower body guards, black surrounds on
the headlights and fog lights, a 120V power outlet in the cargo bay, all-weather
floor mats, and a leather-trimmed shift knob.
For a compact
crossover, the 2018 Toyota RAV4 excels when it comes to passenger volume and
cargo space. With 1,500 pounds of towing capacity (1,750 pounds in the hybrid
model) and a hybrid edition with standard AWD, there’s a lot to like. For those
who find the 2018 Toyota C-HR a bit too edgy, or who find the 2018 Toyota
Highlander just a smidge too big, the Toyota RAV4 is a compelling option.
