A test drive is an important part of shopping for a new car, as you can’t truly know if you want a car without seeing how you feel behind the wheel. We’ve provided some tips from our team at Bell Road Toyota to help you get the most out of your next Toyota test drive.
Check Out the Space
Before you even start the engine, check out the space of the vehicle you want to test-drive. Don’t just consider if it has enough seats, but also if it’s actually spacious enough. Do you have enough legroom? Does the cockpit feel roomy enough? How much room does the cargo area provide?
Test the Features
Make sure you try out all the features in your vehicle to see how comfortable you feel with them. Does the vehicle have all the features you were looking for? If not, perhaps you want to consider another trim level or even another vehicle altogether.
Try to Park
How do you feel parking the vehicle? Does it feel too big for you to maneuver? Do you feel comfortable behind the wheel? Make sure you practice backing into parking spaces and parallel parking as well.
Try Accelerating
During your test drive, it’s also important to get out on the road and test out different speeds. Do you feel comfortable navigating in stop-and-go traffic? How well does the vehicle accelerate on the highway? Does it have the get-up-and-go you crave?
Drive at Least Three Vehicles
Even if you come into our dealership with your heart set on a specific vehicle, we strongly suggest test-driving more than one. For example, if you're set on a crossover, it’s best to check out the Toyota C-HR, the Toyota RAV4, and the Toyota Venza to see which one suits you best.
Reach out to our Phoenix Toyota dealership to schedule a test drive or just stop by at your convenience. We’re anxious to get out on the road with you!
