It's always sad when one of your favorite models gets
retired. Fans of the Toyota Yaris recently went through this, but now it looks
like this Toyota car could be making a comeback. Based on what we've heard so
far, all of us here at Bell Road Toyota can't wait to welcome the Toyota Yaris
back to our lineup of new Toyota models.
Instead of retiring the old Toyota car completely, a new
model will come in and fill its place. The new Toyota Yaris is expected to
arrive sometime in 2020. It will be a hatchback, but you can expect it to
maintain some of the familiar design language
along with some new touches that set it apart.
We expect that the new Toyota
Yaris will come equipped with a fuel-efficient 1.5-liter four-cylinder
engine that puts out 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque. We also expect to
see two six-speed transmission options, an automatic and a manual. This is a
bit of a change from the previous Toyota Yaris model, which offered a
five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.
It's been a bit difficult for smaller cars to attract
attention in the American auto market these days, considering the popularity of
larger vehicles like SUVs and crossovers. That being said, we think that a new
Toyota Yaris hatchback could definitely make a splash when it debuts in 2020.
We hope to learn more about it when it makes its official debut in New York
this spring.
