Here at Bell Road Toyota, our vehicles aren't just
dependable. Our new
Toyota models are fun to drive too. The Toyota brand has really been
focusing on the driving experience lately, but it's still a bit of a surprise
to see how far its team of engineers and designers are going sometimes.
Recently the brand outlined some more sports car plans and, in an unprecedented
move, built its own version of the Nurburgring!
If you're unfamiliar, the Nurburgring is a famous racetrack
that has hosted performance cars of all kinds. It's where automakers go to
really put their cars to the test. Now Toyota engineers have their own replica,
a 3.3-mile track that mimics the classic racetrack's conditions in a slightly smaller
package. There are hills, elevation changes, and other challenges that show how
a car reacts to different situations. With this test track, the Toyota brand
can continue focusing on making their vehicles even more fun to drive. Models
like the 2019
Toyota Corolla have gotten sportier over the years, and it's a trend that
we would love to see continue.
Of course, if we're talking about sports cars we also have
to mention the Toyota 86 and the Toyota Supra. We recently learned that the
former is getting a special edition based on the Hakone Turnpike in Japan, a favorite
of automotive enthusiasts everywhere. The Toyota
86 Hakone Edition gets a special green paint job and a new interior with
tan and black seats. It's still powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine
that puts out over 200 horsepower. Speaking of four-cylinder engines, a recent
leak indicates that the 2020 Toyota Supra, which debuted equipped with an
inline-six engine, could end up getting a four-cylinder engine of its own in
the United States. We look forward to learning more about all of the options
that the Toyota Supra has to offer when it arrives later this year.
