It's no secret that the look of many cars have evolved
rapidly over time. Here at Bell Road Toyota, we've noticed as models like the 2019
Toyota Camry and 2019 Toyota Corolla have changed over the years, but some
emerging technology could spur some changes unlike any we've seen before. We're
talking about autonomous vehicle tech, and it looks like the Toyota brand has
some ideas about what a car that drives itself will look like.
We've seen futuristic self-driving vehicles in movies
before. Sometimes they look more like small pods, but the Toyota brand isn't as
concerned about the exterior appearance right now. Instead it's introducing two
different interior concepts that could be found in the self-driving vehicle of
the future.
Self-driving new Toyota models
could end up sporting the “ACES” interior. This acronym stands for Active
Comfort Engaging Space. It looks much like a standard interior and still
includes a steering wheel, but big changes include video camera side mirrors
and “floating” controls that could be used to control a variety of features.
This interior concept can even control temperatures for individual passengers,
heating up or cooling areas around just one person.
The other autonomous
vehicle interior developed by the Toyota brand is the “Moox.” It's for
completely autonomous vehicles, so no steering wheel, and it includes a giant
screen. This could be used to communicate in a variety of ways, including
taking care of work and joining in on conference calls. We can't wait to see
what else the Toyota brand has in the works for the autonomous cars of the
future.
